The Supervisor's primary role is to ensure the safe operations of daily activities while meeting the production schedules. Effective communication with production personnel, management/support staff, and a continuous improvement mentality are a must for this position.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Provide guidance and training for all plant personnel to ensure that personnel Safety and Food Safety policies/procedures, GMP's and plant rules are followed and adhered to.
Train all employees in PPE requirements and use to ensure that employees are following all established safety policies/procedures.
Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
Train and coach production line employees on a daily basis.
Conduct new hire employee performance reviews Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, back-up for absent employees, and shift rotations.
Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, changeovers and sanitation.
Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels including turnover and needs relating to product volumes.
Schedule and conduct shift meetings to review safety concerns and performance along with plant performance compared to expectations.
Responsible to meet shift production goals.
Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
Review, update, and operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Communicate with other Shift Supervisors, Operations Managers, and/or Plant Manager.
Ensure a clean and safe work area.
Complete shift paper work.
Other functions as assigned by manager.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:
Directly supervise 20 to 30 hourly employees.
Coordinate with Mechanical department daily for plant and department support.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university or in lieu of degree an equivalent combination of college education and relevant work experience may be considered.
Professional understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows XP or Newer
Preferred Experience

years supervisory/management experience in a food processing/manufacturing industry.
Experience with Microsoft Access, Project and Kronos
You must be authorized to work in the United States
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
